Anyone who's watched a beloved brand fade into oblivion or niche studio suddenly explode onto the scene knows fashion is as much a business as it is a form of creative expression. Behind every successful brand, dozens—even hundreds—of number-crunchers make the decisions that keep it afloat. We may take our cues from the people who sketch and sew, but it's the suits—beautifully cut, of course—that make a label look good.

This summer, ELLE announces a new partnership with MIT University and the Complutense University in Madrid to help train the next generation of executives; the three elite institutions have joined forces to launch the ELLE International Fashion & Luxury Management Program.

The course, which is set to kick off in November 2017 and conclude in May 2018, will offer young professionals in the fashion and luxury industries access to premiere professors at the MIT Sloan School of Management and the Complutense in either online sessions or through a hybrid of online classes and on-site modules in Boston and New York in the United States and Paris and Madrid in Europe. (Participants can either attend all modules in person, through the program's global track, or attend only the European or United States modules in person and the rest online.)

Each destination will cover a different area of the business: fast fashion in Madrid, haute couture in Paris, premium brands in New York, and innovation on the MIT campus in Boston, Massachusetts. And all four will give participants access to business leaders and fashion experts in some of the most glamorous and innovative cities in the world. The curriculum and its flexible organization reflect an ever-changing global marketplace, drawing on the case-study method to illustrate how businesses work around the world.

"As a major player in the fashion and luxury sector, ELLE has always shared its expertise with readers," said Constance Benqué, CEO of ELLE France and International. Now, we're letting them make it official; at the end of the academic year, enrollees will receive an MIT Sloan Executive Education certificate in collaboration with Complutense.
